With three singles already released, 'Our story', 'New friend' and 'The Way we used to be' has already received a large amount of love from listeners with nothing but positivity. Having gained interest, fans impatiently wait for his Debut EP 'Cabin Fever'.

We wanted to give you a better introduction to Ellis, so we asked him a few questions! We found out why he started to pursue music and the artists he is influenced by! With three tracks from his EP already released, look out for the full EP releasing early 2021!

"What made you pursue music?"

I started playing the guitar when I was about 12 after my friend showed me a band called Slipknot, I thought it was amazing how they could captivate audiences by playing an instrument! I was immediately consumed by music and learnt to play guitar and drums but was always quite shy about playing and rarely played in front of anybody! In 2010 I was at a tiny stage at Wakestock festival and a very young Ed Sheeran gave me the best show I’ve ever been to. After seeing him play I was fascinated by how he could control a crowd and couldn’t imagine the feeling he got from having hundreds of people sing along to your songs. It was 3 days after this show I started writing songs. I kept all of them a secret until 2019 when I had the confidence to start performing at local open mic nights. I want to be able to give people comfort in music and my dream is to be able to have a collection of songs that people can relate to and find comfort in for every situation in life.

"You can choose one artist to collab with. Whom would it be?"

If I could choose one artist to collab with it would be Eminem. I think blending singer-songwriter/guitar with Eminem’s lyrical flow can only end well

"What artists inspire you?"

I took inspiration from Ed Sheeran and play with a loop pedal live to give my performances more of a full atmosphere. When I’m writing I usually write around guitar loops I’ve made and try to fit the lyrics with the mood of the guitar sound

"You've released 3 tracks already, how does that feel? Which one of these six do you like the most, the one that was the most fun to work on?"

It feels amazing to have released 3 tracks and had an amazing reaction so far, considering a year ago I was nervously starting to perform at open mics. I love every moment of music-making from writing the lyrics to producing them with my producer Matt. It’s so humbling to hear people say they can relate to my music and I can’t wait to release more to try and connect with my audience

My favourite track to work on was “The Way We Used To”. This was actually the last song I made and it only took me a few hours to write from start to finish after a trip home for the weekend. I arrived at my producer Matt’s house to record my final track for the EP and said “Matt, scrap that we have to record this one!”. It’s really close to my heart as I often find myself deep in thought about how I’ve drifted from friends and family and how I can let them all know I’ve not forgotten about them!

"How do you know when a song is finished? What is the criteria for you, personally?"

A song is finished for me when I’ve said I need to say. I write each song from an experience I’ve had, or a thought I have, and until I’ve expressed all my emotions to do with that experience fully the song isn’t finished :)
